AMEX Business Platinum Card 150K sign up bonus!!!

Last month I posted about an offer I received in the mail for a sign up bonus of 100K Membership Rewards points for the AMEX Business Platinum Card if I spent $10,000 in the first 3 months. I had heard of others receiving this type of offer before and to date it was the highest sign up bonus I was aware of. However, I just received in the mail today an even better offer for up to 150,000 Membership Rewards points which is again for the AMEX Business Platinum Card.

In order to qualify for this offer I need to spend at least $10,000 in the first 3 months to receive 100,000 points and if I spend an additional $10,000 during this same time period I will receive an extra 50,000 points for a total of up to 150,000 points. This is by far the highest offer I've ever heard about and one definitely worth considering.

Just a reminder about some of the benefits that the Platinum card features:

  • Airport club access (Centurion lounges, Priority Pass, Delta Sky Clubs on Delta flights)
  • Hilton HHonors Gold status
  • SPG Gold status
  • Fee credit for TSA Precheck or Global Entry
  • $200 annual airline credit (must choose one airline per year)
  • Boingo American Express Preferred Plan
  • Car rental privileges (Avis Preferred, Hertz Gold Plus Rewards, National Car Rental Emerald Club Executive)
  • Access to Fine Hotels and Resorts (more on this in a later post)
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Premium roadside assistance
  • PRIMARY car rental loss and damage insurance
  • Purchase protection
  • Extended warranty
  • Baggage insurance
  • Travel accident insurance
  • 10 Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi passes
  • Access to AMEX OPEN Savings Program

And the fact that I already own the personal version of the AMEX Platinum Card does not prevent me from applying or qualifying for this offer since they are considered two different products as I've explained in the past. I'm not sure what I did to be placed on this list to receive all these amazing offers but I'm certainly not complaining.

Bottom Line

This is by far the highest sign up bonus I've heard of for this card and if I can spend the hefty $20,000 in the first 3 months to qualify for the full 150,000 Membership Rewards points then that equates to roughly $3,000 in travel if you value Membership Rewards at a reasonable 2 cents per point (150,000 x $0.02). If you haven't been targeted for this offer but are interested to see if you qualify there are a couple options you can try. You can go directly to the source and search AMEX's website for any pre-qualified offers at https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/

This isn't a hard pull so won't affect your credit score. Also, I have read reports that if you do this in incognito mode on your Chrome browser you may receive offers that you previously were not offered but I have not tried this method myself. Another option is to try the CardMatch tool that will give you a list of all your targeted offers from all credit card companies and not just AMEX.

This also does not create a hard pull on your credit report so won't affect it. One final option would be to go to open.com/getplatinum which will take you to application page of for the AMEX Business Platinum and instead of entering an RSVP code click on the "Can't find your RSVP?" option and just enter your information that way to see if you were targeted.
