Review: New Orleans (MSY) Delta Sky Club

As I mentioned yesterday I recently returned from a Caribbean cruise that left out of New Orleans so I wanted to take this time to review the Delta Sky Club there. Similar to my home airport at Indianapolis (IND), there is only one lounge in the entire airport and it happens to be a Delta Sky Club which I luckily have access to through my AMEX Platinum since I was flying on a Delta flight.

The Delta Sky Club is located just past security in Concourse D near Gate 4. They are open from 5:00 am until 7:30 pm Sun-Fri and close a bit earlier on Sat at 6:00 pm but offer all the same standard amenities that all Delta Sky Clubs provide such as complimentary alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, snacks, WiFi access, charging pads for smartphones, satellite TV, computer workstations, and personalized flight assistance.

As you can see the lounge itself isn't very large and since it is the only lounge available it got rather crowded so we were lucky to find some seats. The check-in staff and bartenders were really friendly and attentive which I find can be hit or miss at these clubs. The cleaning staff were also very diligent and walked around what felt like every couple minutes to pick up empty glasses and dishes.

There is a good view of the runway since an entire wall of the club was floor to ceiling windows which was pretty cool although not everyone will probably find this as interesting or scenic. The only problem was the bathrooms were rather limited and only contained one stall which seemed like it was always occupied so I found myself using the restrooms outside the club at times. Overall though this was a nice place to kill a couple hours before my flight.
