Massive European sale...many airlines and many destinations

So I've been itching to get back to Europe since my first trip there earlier this year in March. However, tickets have been so expensive usually ranging in the $1,000-$1,400 range just for a round trip economy ticket from my home airport in Indianapolis (IND). But it appears there is a massive fare war going on between multiple airlines all across the US to Europe for dates in August 2016-March 2017 (excluding the holidays in December). Flights are going for a mere $600-$700 which is almost half the price they normally do but I'm not sure how long these fares are going to last.

As I've mentioned I usually use Google flights as my go to destination when initially planning any trip and as you can see there are multiple dates starting in August with extremely cheap fares. I randomly chose Frankfurt (FRA) as my destination but this sale seems to extend to almost anywhere in Europe.

I know it may be hard to see but for the same random dates I selected earlier to Frankfurt (FRA), I could easily go to Paris (CDG) for $647 round trip or Milan (MXP) for $661 round trip. And the list goes on and on for round trip tickets to these destinations: Dublin (DUB) for $579, Amsterdam (AMS) for $615, Prague (PRG) for $668, and Barcelona (BCN) for $641 just to name a few. And these rates are even cheaper if you are leaving from a larger international airport such as New York (JFK) or Washington DC (DCA).

Bottom Line

This sale represents a great opportunity to get across the lake although I'm not sure how long these fares will last. And even though the US Department of State recently declared a travel alert to Americans traveling abroad, I would not let this deter you from experiencing what Europe has to offer.
