However, the company has taken a toll from the recent E. coli outbreaks that led to illness of more than 50 people spanning 4 states.
As a way to restore good faith and bring people back into their restaurants they have doubled-down on their free food promotions. Many of you may have taken advantage of their recent free burrito giveaway last month which was a huge success and more than doubled their expected 2.5 million requests with a total of 5.3 million coupons being downloaded. And they don't plan to stop there. They have already sent out around 6-10 million direct-mail coupons with plans to send out a total of 21 million in the coming weeks.
And their latest promotion is a chance to win free chips and guacamole through an online game called "Guac Hunter." Just go to the website http://www.guachunter.com/ and play a matching game that should take a few minutes to complete and they will send you a coupon for an order of free chips and guac whether you win or not. You must play between March 21-31st and the coupon expires April 10th.
Bottom Line
I'm glad to see Chipotle is making efforts to win back the trust of its customers and it seems to be working so far. I probably would have remained a loyal customer regardless of their recent promotions but I'm not complaining about free food either.
